Terms of service for members

The following terms of service ("Terms") cover a member's use and access to U3A ACT's services, newsletter, eBulletin and website ("Services"). The Privacy Policy explains how U3A ACT collects and uses a member's information while the Code of Conduct Policy outlines a member's responsibilities when using the "Services". Use of the "Services" indicates that a member has reviewed the Privacy and Code of Conduct policies and agrees to be bound by these "Terms". If the "Services" are being used on behalf of an organisation, then agreement to these "Terms" by that organisation is implicit.

A member's personal information and permissions

When a member makes use of the "Services", they provide U3A ACT with personal information such as credit card and contact details. These "Terms" don't give U3A ACT any rights to that personal information except for the limited rights that enable U3A to offer the "Services".

U3A ACT needs a member's permission to do things such as change their membership details and contact information or to share any of their personal information with a third party, including U3A ACT affiliates and trusted third parties with which U3A ACT works.

A member's responsibilities

U3A ACT operates within a Constitution (Objects and Rules of U3A-ACT Incorporated), which includes the rules of the organisation and its aims. By joining, members agree to these rules and aims.

Each member is responsible for their conduct and must comply with the Code of Conduct Policy and Safety and Wellbeing Policy.

U3A ACT may review a member's conduct for compliance with these "Terms" and the Code of Conduct policy. With that said, U3A ACT has no obligation to do so. If a member has a complaint about the "Services", which is unable to be settled to their satisfaction, then it will be dealt with by the Complaints and Disputes Resolution Policy.

Each member should safeguard the password used to log in to U3A website, making sure that others don't have access to it. Each member is responsible for keeping their membership information current. This can be done by logging in, going to the My Membership menu option, then to My Details

Finally, the "Services" are not intended for and may not be used by people under the age of 50. By using the "Services", a member is representing themselves as being 50 or over.
